AFL 

Today we were playing a real game of afl and we all got in to pairs one person had to be in Sydney Swans and the other had to be Hawthorn Hawks. I played in the swans and the score was 4-2 to swans. The game was when there was a person was in a triangle on each side. You had to handball it to a person in your team and then to your goal catcher to get a point. Then you had to do a ruck play again.

What is the ruck-The ball is thrown up & you have to jump & high five the ball to your team mates.

When is the ruck played-At the start of the game,quarter,after a goal & throw ins.

Why do people do this-So they know who gets the ball

Who is in the ruck-The ruck men who tries to get the ball & umpire who throws the ball up.

Ruck o'clock

We got taught the ruck o'clock so in the game we can get points.

The ruck o'clock is started when the umpire calls out a these numbers:

e.g.    12 o'clock witch is in front of you.

          3 o'clock witch is on the right hand side of you.

          6 o'clock witch is behind you.

          9 o'clock  witch is on the left hand side of you. 

Then you hit the ball were you are called to.

1. You have to make your arms like a robot.

2. Face the balls x to your face.

3. bounce the ball on it's curve.

We got taught this because in afl you can only take 10 steps.

You have to bounce the ball because in AFL you can only can take 10 steps on the ground.

Marks

1.Chest mark:

   chest mark is a catch and when the ball touches your hands scoop the ball up to your chest.

  2.Hand mark: 

    is when you put your hands like a camera/tv and face it at the ball and have straight arms.

3. Secky mark:

  is when you catch the ball while jumping and putting your knee right under your hands.
